Oenologists, cellar managers and winemakers have always liked to use the painter’s image and palette of colours to describe the magic of Champagne blends. The “Du côté des Renoir” cultural centre and its partner champagne houses have decided to take this approach of associating art and great vintages even further. “Taste the champagne and tell us which painting you would like to combine it with. Elegance, roundness, femininity, seduction, harmony… There are many words that can describe a work of art as well as a great wine. It was in Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s house, still imbued with the presence of the great master of Impressionism, that our committee of experts met for an exciting day of tasting. The result was beyond our expectations ! Convergence of choices, quality of comments. A new way of describing champagnes and, at the end of the day, a sparkling look at Renoir’s work.
